Academic Coach Taylor

Dear ACT,

I'm so flattered you read the blog!  I absolutely think you're right that there is a camp aesthetic going on, and I hope I'm not limiting it to just heterosexual female desire, especially since I especially appreciated how the Gael-Garcia Bernal blog bucks gender binaries (and traditional ideas of female heterosex desire) in this post.  I feel like these memes could be discussed over several posts to think about the political work they do and the important feminist critiques they often voice, especially as versions like Fuck No Rick Santorum do rely on the juxtapositions you discuss.  In part, I wanted to find a space for Biostatistics Ryan Gosling and imagine what the meme's spread beyond the early iterations might mean, because I think that a meme is never quite just a meme.  I like reading ACT and pretending I could find a Coach Taylor to motivate my own research; I hope you keep it up!  We here at UT are fans.
